How your GPA is worked out
Each letter grade is worth points on the 4.0 scale: A is 4.0, B is 3.0, C is 2.0 and so on. Your GPA is every class's points times its credits, added up, then divided by the total credits. Most high school classes carry one credit, so if yours do, just leave the credits at 1.
Common questions
Weighted or unweighted?
This is an unweighted 4.0 GPA. Weighted GPAs add extra points for Honors and AP classes, which this tool does not change.
What is a good high school GPA?
A 3.0 is solid, 3.5 and up is strong, and 3.7 or higher is usually honor-roll level.
